The Mara Bushtops is a multi-award-winning tented camp set amongst the brush of the 60,000 acre Mara Siana Wildlife Conservancy.  Perched atop a hill and a short drive from the Mara River, scene of many a wildlife spectacle.

The layout of the Mara Bushtops camp was strategically designed to maximise privacy.  Nestling in the side of the hill, tents feature expansive wooden decking and delightful views of the Siana Hills.  Your large and airy living space will be equipped with full en suite facilities with 24 hour hot and cold water, and furnished with top quality furniture.

The central dining area and lounge overlooks the watering hole with salt lick, a particular attraction for free-ranging elephants.  All dishes are home-made using the freshest herbs and vegetables from the lodge's garden.  Wine lovers will relish the opportunity to take a meal in the acclimatised wine cellar, stocking world-famous wines in optimum conditions.  You could even select your favourite glass and take it up to enjoy in the hot tub.

Guests at Mara Bushtops will delight in the cool waters of the infinity pool after a long hot day on safari.  After enjoying the utterly breathtaking view, you can dry off on the sun deck in the balmy African breeze.

Game drives here are particularly thrilling, by day or night, under the guidance of a knowledgeable and experienced driver.  For a really special treat, try a hot air balloon safari, where you can get an unforgettable bird's eye view of the Mara's thousands of grazers.  At Bushtops you can also try walking safaris, bush picnics, bird-watching, fishing and cultural excursions.

Honeymooners will find the perfect destination in Bushtops, from the exquisite dining to the breathtaking views, and those who have not yet tied the knot can take advantage of Bushtop's comprehensive wedding service, including flowers, champagne, canap├ęs, a Masai wedding dance, wedding cake and more.

Reviews & Testimonials of Bushtops

"Pure Luxury in the Mara"

We spent two nights at Bushtops as part of our Honeymoon. This is the place to go if you are looking to be pampered by top of the line service. The tents are just as beautiful as the pictures posed and located on their website. The restaurant is truly 5 stars with excellent service, friendly staff and great food. It is also a special treat to have your breakfast watching baboons, zebra, gazelle and dikdiks licking salt.

Our guide Ferdinand was amazing and we highly recommend him. We saw 3 of the big 5 but understand that it is very hard to find the rino and leopard. We did see a cheetah!

As for the location of the camp, we would say it is just ok. Since the camp is located on the hills you get an amazing view from your tent, however it takes a good 15 min just to get to the main road in order to enter the Mara (a good 30 min before you see a lot of game). One plus is that the camp is located near a Massai village which is a treat to visit.

One more thing to watch out for is that the only alcoholic drinks that are included is the local bear (no wine).

All in all, it is an amazing destination and we can't imagine anyone not having a great time.

"absolute perfection"

This was a truly luxurious experience, the like of which we didn't think existed for a safari trip. The "tents" are large and very comfortable and feel more like a hotel room than a tent. the views were exceptional, with wildlife constantly roaming past. the food was superb and the staff were fantastic.

A few reviews mentioned it is outside the park and this is true, but for us the other benefits outweighed this minor fact. The drivers were true guides, and a local masi accompanied you to track the animals, the vehicle was much better than the minbuses you see as it was open sided so you had uniterrupted views and no fighting over the window.

It could also go off road, whcih others couldn't, so when you saw a gaggle of little buses queued up on the path we could go right past them close to the animals. It may not now be true but I believe this was the only place to offer all day trips, meaning you could get right into the park, complete with fantastic packed lunch. On a side note, this is the only time we have booked a trip with Kouni and throughout the journey, Nairobi. Masi Mara and Malindi, they were great.
