Truly the holiday of a lifetime

Our 16-day luxury safari provides over two weeks of unique, authentic safari combined with unbridled, absolute luxury.  From your special bush accommodation, specially planned cultural encounters and stunning landscapes, to your fabulous beach extension on the white sands of Zanzibar’s coast, each moment will be as magical as the next.

After your initial overnight in the verdant surrounds and fresh air of Arusha countryside, you will begin your safari in earnest with a visit to Tarangire.  The sight of majestic baobabs dotting the landscape, with elephant wandering beneath them, will really set the standard of the safari to come!

On to Lake Manyara, the view  of the sparkling lake will calm your soul and delight the senses.  You can spot hippo in the waters, as well as elephant, giraffe, buffalo and various antelope within the park area.  If you’re lucky you may even spot a famous tree-climbing Manyara lion!

At Ngorongoro, you will take a fabulous game drive on the Ngorongoro Crater bottom, as well as a guided walk at the crater rim.  The vast crater is a wonder to behold, whether it be from the crater bottom or looking down the 2000ft high walls from the rim! In the Ngorongoro Conservation area are two other, less well-frequented craters – Olmoti and Empakai.  Olmoti is a relatively shallow crater which you can walk down, to find eland, bushland and sometimes buffalo amongst the lovely landscape.  There is a small but spectacular waterfall there on the south side of the crater – known as the Munge Stream.  The Empakai Crater, meanwhile, is 6 kilometres wide and home to a deep soda lake which attracts a whole host of water birds and wild creatures.

The Serengeti needs little introduction.  This, the world’s most famous wildlife sanctuary, is home to many animals including wildebeest, zebra, Thompson’s gazelle, and of course the “Big Five”.

At Zanzibar, you will experience not only the azure sky, pristine sands and laid-back atmosphere of the beach, but also the culture and heritage rich historical old town of the island.  After your active safari adventure, you will relish the opportunity to stretch out on the beach and soak up the sun, before finishing your trip in style, exploring the winding alleys and curio shops of Stone Town.

The ultimate safari experience

The accommodation selected for our luxury safari programme is comfortable, unique and magical through and through.  From a suite in the trees to a charming, elegant farm house and a luxury private camp in the wilderness, once you’ve taken this tour, you’ll understand exactly why we chose it.

The attention to detail at these high-end establishment, from the discreet service to the quality furnishings, the fresh cuisine and the stylish and elegant decor.  However, what these establishments possess above all else, perhaps, is unbeatable location.  Tarangire TreeTops has delightful suites situated amongst the thick boughs of majestic baobab and marula trees, whilst the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge clings to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.  The Breezes Beach Resort, where you will spend your Zanzibar beach extension, is situated on Bwejuu – undeniably one of the best beaches in the world.

Dining in any one of the establishments on this tour is an experience to be relished.  Gibb’s Farm, on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is a fully operational farm which provides the fresh produce which goes into each and every delicious meal served there.  The Tower Top Restaurant at 236 Hurumzi, meanwhile, offers one of the most singularly romantic dining experiences in Stone Town, providing aromatically spiced dishes amongst the minarets and spiralling towers of Zanzibar’s fabled old town.

Luxury mobile camping in the Serengeti will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this luxurious trip.  With this level of luxury, the choice of almost any private campsite in Tanzania’s northern circuit, the opportunity to cohabitate with the wildlife around you, and unparalleled seclusion in your own corner of the wilderness, it is little wonder that luxury mobile camping is often deemed to be the ultimate safari experience.

Each tent consists of a huge bedroom, a dressing area and a separate shower and toilet.  The dressing area, shower and toilet may even be open air, which simply heightens the sense of safari authenticity.  Your very own mess tent will be provided, at a size in accordance with the number of people in your party – whether you need an intimate dining space for 2, or a large and spacious area to comfortably sit up to 16 people!  After dining in your mess tent, the evenings are spent around a campfire, perhaps enjoying a wine, beer, spirit or soft drink from the well-stocked bar.
